Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has initialled a Heads of Agreement (HOA) with Petronet-LNG for the offtake of 2m tonnes a year (t/y) of LNG from Dahej.

The agreement, initialled on 20th March, said the LNG would be sold to IOC customers along the Hazira Bijaipur Jagdishpur (HBJ) pipeline. "We are trying to persuade some of our existing customers to switch from naphtha to LNG," a source at IOC tells Petrowatch, "We have not signed any firm sale contracts yet".

Petrowatch learns that one strong contender for LNG from IOC is a proposed 720-MW power plant promoted by RPG Enterprises at Dholpur in Rajasthan.
