Probe into Bombay High fire

Jatar, former managing director of ONGC Videsh, to investigate the February15th fire on a bridge attached to the BHF platform on the Bombay High. Jatar is slated to submit a report in a fortnight's time.

Fire at BHF broke out at 8pm and took three-and-a-half hours to extinguish. AnONGC spokesman tells this report it originated from some electric cutting carried out as part of the Bombay High (North) revamp.

Petrowatch learns estimated damage is valued at Rs100cr ($22m). Two persons died, but ONGC says one death was unrelated to the fire.

The other person was found dead in the switchgear room, asphyxiated by toxic fumes.
