Help us protect Middle Eastern oil supplies! US ambassador to Delhi Robert Blackwill wants Indian co-operation to ensure safe access to oil and gas supplies from oil producing nations of the Middle East.

Blackwill told the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce in Mumbai on 6th September that the US and its allies depend on the Middle East for halftheir crude oil imports, while India depends on the region for 90% of its imports. "The flow of oil and gas from the Middle East must be free of threats stemming either from military aggression or from acts of terrorism," said Blackwill.

"The United States and India can work more closely together to achieve this objective."
