Raha's ONGC application winds its way through red tape

It might take another month for Subir Raha to be confirmed as ONGC chairman.

We learn oil Minster Ram Naik has sent his file to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. From there it will go to the Department of Personnel and from there to the cabinet secretary for a stamp of approval.

After that the file will wind its way to the Ministry of Home Affairs and finally to the Prime Minister's Office for final approval. Protocol deems that once the PM approves Raha's name, the appointment order must be drafted within 48 hours.
