Tapti development $2.77m over budget

Enron has told its joint venture partners that the mid and south Tapti six-well recompletion programme over 100 days beginning December will cost $2.77m over budget.

Larry Morse, Enron Oil and Gas India managing director, submitted a revised additional budget for 2001-02 on 21st September to consortium partners ONGC and Reliance. It takes the total cost of the programme to $21.04m.

"A revision of this budget has been necessitated upon review of bids for rig and allied services," we are told. Well costs rose to $17.584m from $16.839m, while mobilisation-demobilisation costs are $3.5m from the earlier $1.5m.

Increased overheads have also added to costs.
