Former BPCL director new chairman of Hindustan Petroleum

HPCL has a new chairman to replace Hira Lal Zutshi who retired on 31st May.

His name is M.B Lal (see picture) and he's the former director refineries at Bharat Petroleum.

Lal assumed charge as the new chairman and managing director on 5th June. On 30th May, Zutshi presided over his last meeting of the HPCL board.

What are his post retirement plans "I am quite healthy and have a lot of friends in the oil industry here as well as overseas," he tells PETROWATCH. "But I will put my feet up for about three months and then decide what to do." In 1963 Zutshi joined Esso as a management trainee and stayed with the company after it was nationalised in 1974.
