On 22nd March Petronet-LNG managing director Suresh Mathurled a delegation to Qatar for talks with RasGas to press for a floor and ceiling price for LNG supplies to Dahej.

H.P Chandna, director planning at GAIL, Ashok Sinha, director finance at BPCL and Y.

B Sinha, director exploration at ONGC, went with Mathur. It's understood the team also discussed a further reduction in the LNG price to Petronet-LNG.

"The global LNG market has softened because of over supply," reveals a source. "There's scope for a reduction in price." Mathur's trip has added urgency following last month's decision by NTPC to invite a global tender for 5m t/y LNG for 2006 delivery.
