Reliance is nowhere near resolving its row with the environment ministry over drilling without clearance at its eastern offshore block KG-DWN-98/3.

PETROWATCH learns environment minister and former oil minister T.R Baalu is firm on taking action against Reliance, despite attempts to 'soften' him up.

"Every week Reliance keeps telling us the issue will be sorted out by the end of the week, but nothing seems to be happening,an oil ministry source reveals. Meanwhile, we learn the Ambani family, which owns Reliance, has identified the source of the leak about the company's drilling activities.

Sometime last month one of the Ambani brothers called in the entire drilling team to warn them against leaking information. One member of the team, believed to be the source of the leak, was not part of the meeting.
