Iran wants Ram Naik to make keynote speech in Tehran

Vol 7, PW 22 (28 Jan 04) News in Brief

Indian companies interested in Iran could do worse than accompany oil minister Ram Naik to Tehran in April if he accepts an invitation to attend a conference to promote the countrys gas exports.

Whats certain is that any Indian company that attends is sure to receive a warm welcome. Witness a personal invitation to oil minister Ram Naik from his Iranian counterpart Bijan Zangeneh to make a keynote speech at the First Iran Gas Export Conference in Tehran on 25th and 26th April.

Writes Zangeneh: I would be honoured and delighted if you would accept this invitation to offer a keynote presentation at this conference. Your insight into Indias growing gas demand and the role Indian companies can play in developing Irans oil and sector would be of immense interest to our international audience.

According to Zangeneh, discussions will focus on the timetable and scope for LNG and pipeline export projects in Iran.
