DSF results expected in February

Vol 20, PW 8 (12 Jan 17) News in Brief

You might be anxious to know whether your bid in the Discovered Small Fields (DSF) round has been successful or not, but you will have to wait until end-February as that is when the results are expected.

The DGH submitted a detailed recommendation report to the oil ministry in the first week of January. "It is up to the oil minister to make an announcement now," reports a DGH source.

But oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan is busy preparing for upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur, scheduled to take place between February 4 and March 8. Once he makes the announcement, PSCs are likely to be signed soon after, possibly in March.

Under this round the DGH received 134 e-bids from 42 companies by the November 21, 2016 deadline. Of this 120 e-bids were received for all the 26 onland fields on offer and 14 e-bids were received for just eight of the total 20 offshore fields.

DGH boss Atanu Chakraborty inaugurated its stall at the Vibrant Gujarat summit in Gandhinagar on January 10 to market the new round and its attractive terms and conditions.
