Vol 20, PW 1 (22 Sep 16) News in Brief

IndianOil is delaying by two months an eagerly-awaited tender to buy pipe for a proposed 1167-km gas pipeline from its upcoming LNG terminal at Ennore in Tamil Nadu to Bangalore in Karnataka.

Expected next month (October), pipe contractors have been waiting for IndianOil to issue this tender since January. "We are still carrying out design and basic engineering," clarifies an IOC source, "and might make changes to the pipeline route." Expect tenders to buy pipe and lay the pipeline in December, he said.

IOC stresses there won't be delay implementing the project, adding that it has 36 months from the date of the PNGRB authorisation on December 15, 2015: eighteen months for design, engineering, securing RoU and issuing tenders, and 18 months for execution and commissioning. IOC adds it has begun acquiring RoU clearance.

When ready IndianOil will set aside 21.17m cm/d of the 84.67m cm/d capacity pipeline for third party use.
