Torrent imports LNG 'parcel' cargo

Torrent Power has brought in its second ‘parcel cargo’ to India at Hazira on March 18.

This 63,713-cubic metre Qatar Gas cargo sourced through SITME came in aboard LNG tanker Al Safliya. Torrent will share the cargo 50-50 with Shell and will use the gas at its Surat, Dahej and Ahmedabad power stations.

Further south Petronet-LNG’s stranded 5m t/y Kochi terminal is seeing its fortunes improve. On March 18, Kochi reloaded its second outward bound cargo in a 46-day timespan.

Dutch trader Trafigura reloaded 145,531.718-cubic metres of LNG onto tanker Corcovado for discharge at Kuwait’s Mina Al Ahmadi port where 170,000 cubic metre capacity tanker Golar Igloo is stationed as an FSRU. Trafigura and Total earlier brought in a 162,337-cubic metre cargo sourced from Yemen to Kochi on February 26 aboard Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Arwa Spirit.

Kochi last sent out a reload cargo on January 31, India’s first reload ever, aboard LNG tanker Gaslog Singapore which went to KOGAS.
