Jindal Drilling will add a third jack-up to its growing fleet when Jindal Star enters Indian waters in November.

Star is a Marathon LeTourneau 116C design rig, built at Lamprell's Sharjah yard for $200m. Jindal has no contract yet for Star but has offered her in ONGC’s tender for three new rigs.

Two more jack-ups will join Jindal’s fleet end-2014, each costing $200m. Jindal Explorer, constructed at the Keppel FELS yard in Singapore as a Keppel B class rig, will be ready in October 2014.

Jindal Pioneer, also under construction at Lamprell, is likewise a Marathon LeTourneau 116C rig, expected in December 2014. All three will be equipped to drill HP/HT wells in depths of up to 350 feet (107 metres).

Jindal already owns jack-ups Virtue 1 and Discovery 1. Virtue 1 is on contract with ONGC till December and Discovery 1 is on contract with ONGC till March 2017.
