Aishwariya and Raageshwari production

Vol 16, PW 16 (07 Mar 13) News in Brief

By the end of this month (March), Cairn India will begin production at two Rajasthan fields.

Cairn expects to begin producing 3000 b/d of oil from its Aishwarya oilfield and 100,000 cm/d of gas from the Raageshwari Deep Gas field at 3111-sq km onland block RJ-ON-90/1. “Aishwariya should begin production by March 7,” confirms a Cairn source from Barmer.

But an ONGC source believes production will begin on March 15. Another Cairn source says it wants oil minister Veerappa Moily to inaugurate production.

Aishwarya production should increase to 10,000 b/d by early 2014 and to 20,000 b/d by 2017. Cairn has drilled 27 wells at Raageshwari.

Block RJ-ON-90/1 is producing 175,000 b/d of oil, likely to rise to 215,000 b/d by March 31, 2014. Cairn's Mangala, Bhagyam and Aishwariya fields have gross ultimate recoverable oil reserves and resources of approximately 1bn barrels, including 636m barrels of 2P gross reserves and resources.
