Vol 8, PW 26 (06 Apr 05) News in Brief

DK Pande will be the new director exploration at ONGC and UN Bose will be the new director technology and field services.

Both were selected by the PESB on 24th March. Other candidates to appear for the director exploration post were: DM Kale, Gautam Sen, Apurba Saha, PSN Kutty and SV Rao from ONGC and GC Saxena from the DGH.

ONGC also invited ex-employee Dr Ravi Bastia - now VP exploration at Reliance - but he did not respond. Also called was Lehmbar Singh (ONGC) and Joeman Thomas (ONGC Videsh) but both declined.

Other candidates to appear for the director technology job were: UN Bose, AT Kali, SR Athavale, AK Gupta, AA Khan, Padam Singh and PK Johri from ONGC. Only one candidate was selected for each job, unlike in the past when two candidates were shortlisted.

Bose replaces Nathu Lal who retires on 30th April and Pande replaces Yogesh Sinha who retires on 4th May.
