Vol 13, PW 8 (24 Sep 09) News in Brief

Bharat Petroleum’s under construction Bina to Kota product pipeline with 2.8m t/y capacity is expected to be ready before December this year when the 6m t/y Bina refinery is also expected to be completed.

PETROWATCH learns work is progressing well on the 257-km, 18-inch pipeline from Bina in Madhya Pradesh to Kota in Rajasthan, which is being laid to transport petroleum products from the future Bina refinery to north India. At Kota, the pipeline will link up to BPCL’s existing 778-km Indore to Delhi pipeline.

KazStroy India is a 100% subsidiary of KazStroyService of Kazakhstan and won a contract to lay the pipeline on January 5 this year. “We have been told to complete the job in 10 months from the date of the award,â€‌ KazStroy tells us.

KazStroy says it has already completed civil works on the entire 257-km stretch and has only 30-km of pipeline left to build. BPCL adds that pipe manufacturer PSL has supplied pipe for the entire length.
