Six apply for Oil India director exploration

Oil India has begun the search to replace director exploration SK Patra when he steps down on 1st December this year – nine months from now.

PETROWATCH learns by 8th February the Public Enterprises Selection Board received six applications: four from ONGC and two from Oil India. Gautam Sen, executive director at ONGC’s corporate planning department in Delhi; AK Mandal and PK Bhowmick, both group general managers at ONGC Mumbai; and DP Sahastrabudhay group general manager at Vadodara, applied from ONGC.

SK Srivastava, chief advisor exploration and BN Talukdar, head geological and reservoir department, applied from Oil India. “Srivastava and Talukdar are seen as the favourites,â€‌ says a source, “because they are internal candidates.

â€‌ Gautam Sen is believed to have the strongest chance among the ONGC hopefuls. On 8th January, the PESB circulated the vacancy among state-owned companies asking eligible candidates to apply by 8th February.
