India thanks France for help at UN

India has again thanked France for its support in Delhi's campaign to win a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.

"We have been very encouraged by the consistent support which we have received from France, at the highest levels, for our permanent candidature to the UN Security Council," said Indian President KR Narayanan, "We are particularly happy that our warm and unique relationship with France has been characterised by a new dynamism in recent years." Narayanan made the comments on 3rd August at the presidential palace to welcome France's new ambassador to Delhi - Monsieur Bernard de Faubournet de Montferrand.
