On the move: jack-ups for ONGC
Jindal Drilling, Shelf Drilling and newcomer Advanced Energy Systems (ADES) are mobilising their jack-ups to ONGC's western offshore locations ahead of the mid-May start of monsoon rains when mobilisation becomes problematic.
By May 10 (2023), Jindal will deploy Virtue-1, Jindal Star and Discovery-1, each on three-year ONGC contracts. Virtue-1, hired at an Operating Day Rate (ODR) of $80,000 and an Effective Day Rate (EDR) of $78,046 plus 12% Goods and Services Tax (GST), is en route to location B-172-A.
Virtue-1's previous ONGC contract ended in July 2022. Jindal Star, hired at an ODR of $44,000 and an EDR of $42,750 plus 12% GST, is on her way to location NBP-E.
Jindal Star's previous ONGC contract ended in November 2022. Discovery-I, hired at an ODR of $48,300 and an EDR of $46,907 plus 12% GST, is approaching location NBP-B.
Discovery-I's last ONGC contract ended in July 2022. Locations NBP-E and NBP-B sit in the marginal D1 field offshore Mumbai.
By April 21 (2023), Shelf Drilling had mobilised jack-up CE Thornton to the RS-4 location at the Mumbai High. Thornton was hired at an ODR of $44,400 and an EDR of $42,750.
Her previous ONGC contract ended in November 2022. Shelf is also mobilising rig Compact Driller, hired around January 2023 at an ODR of $76,800 and an EDR of $75,260.
Compact Driller is presently berthed at the Mumbai port's inner anchorage, awaiting her ONGC location. Egyptian contractor ADES is mobilising rigs Admarine-IX and Admarine-X (previously known as Raniworo) to ONGC's western offshore locations after their delayed arrival offshore India last month (April).
On arrival, Admarine-IX and Admarine-X berthed at Angre Port adjacent to Lavgan Shipyard on the west coast for inspections and minor repairs. ADES plans to mobilise both rigs to their locations by May 7 (2023).
Admarine-X, hired at an ODR of $45,786 and an EDR of $44,785, will go to LM-MH-1 JO35, while Admarine-IX, hired at an EDR of $66,434, awaits her ONGC location.
