Gujarat Adani Energy is all set to compete with Indraprastha Gas in Delhi.

Gujarat Adani has begun talks with the Uttar Pradesh government to set up city gas distribution projects in the three satellite cities of Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. All three locations come under the National Capital Region of Delhi, an area normally reserved for IGL.

A formal proposal regarding the distribution zones will be made after the general elections, an Adani source tells PETROWATCH. Gas will be sourced from the HBJ.

Spearheading Adanis foray into the Delhi suburbs is its managing director Rajeev Sharma, himself a former MD of IGL. Separately, Gujarat Adanis plan to begin the commercial supply of gas to industrial customers in Vadodra has been delayed by 15-20 days.

We are in the process of securing customers in the 12-km Nandesari-Ranoli stretch, the source said. Operations should have started on 15th March.
