ONGC officials join ministry contracts cell

Vol 16, PW 10 (29 Nov 12) News in Brief

Three ONGC officials are likely to join the oil ministry’s contract cell on December 1 to provide technical support on NELP and CBM blocks: chief manager (reservoir) SK Vajpayee, manager (finance) Sangeeta Duggal and manager (finance) Vinit Kant.

Three other ONGC officials vacated the posts in September to return to their parent company after completing their terms, leading the oil ministry to invite fresh names from ONGC in October. Ministry officials cleared Vajpayee, Duggal and Kant’s appointments in mid-November for three years.

These ONGC officials will be responsible for calculating royalty, cess, and the government’s share of profit petroleum on production. They will be the government nominees at block Management Committee meetings and will also grant PELs and Mining Leases (MLs) at ONGC and Oil India nomination blocks.

Vajpayee, Duggal and Kant will also oversee all financial matters for PSCs of NELP and CBM blocks.
