Ensco, Transocean and Noble Drilling are frontrunners in BG’s fourth attempt to hire a jack-up for the Panna and Mukta fields.

BG, which runs daily PMT operations, issued a tender for a rig to drill six wells in 300-ft water depths at the PL platform at Panna on May 13. On the same day, BG issued a separate tender for a ‘high-specification’ jack-up to drill three ‘extended reach’ development wells and one ‘Mahuva’ formation appraisal well at Mukta in 300 feet water depths.

Bids must be submitted by June 2 (today) and both rigs must be mobilised by October 10. Twenty-two pre-qualified bidders received tender documents.

Shortlisted drillers include Aban Offshore; Atwood Oceanics with Alpha Offshore; British American Offshore; Diamond Offshore; Egyptian Drilling; Great Offshore; Greatship; Hercules Offshore; Jindal Drilling; KCA Deutag; Maersk; Mercator Offshore; Nabors; Pride International; Saipem; Scorpion Offshore; Seadrill; and UNW Standard Drilling.
