Petronet-India invites BOOT bids for Central India Pipeline

State-owned pipeline company Petronet-India is planning a series of newspaper adverts inviting bids for "concessionaires" to Build, Operate, Own and TransferPhase-I (1,460-km) and Phase-II (300-km) of the proposed Central India pipeline.

The winning bid must execute the project from start to finish, then runit for 25years before returning control to Petronet India. Phase-I, costing Rs2,200cr, is scheduled to begin in 2004, while Phase-II, costing Rs387cr should begin in 2010-11.

Final cost estimates go for approval to the Petronet-India board on July 23rd at the Bharat Petroleum office in Mumbai's Ballard Estate business district.
