ONGC chairman Subir Raha completed his first year in office on 25th May.

Thanks to entrenched vested interests, Raha did not have an easy first year. In an open letter to staff, hehits out at "professional" complainants and "professional" criticisers, describing them as "colleagues with a remarkable ability to run down anything and everything in ONGC with an equally remarkable inability to make any positive contribution." Another category are "the blackmailers who harass colleagues by sending in mischievous complaints.

they all have one common attribute - the refusal to identify himself or herself..

." Raha adds: "No one talks any more of ONGC collapsing in three years. We are now engaged in twenty-year strategic plans.
