Good response to ONGC seismic
ONGC has received an excellent response in a tender to shoot 10,875-lkm 2D in unexplored areas of India.
By the August 27 (2024) deadline, ONGC received seven bids from Gurugram-based Advent Oilfield Services; Hyderabad-based Agil Seismic Services and Alphageo; Mumbai-based Asian Energy Services; Guwahati-based Mahabala Geo; Vijayawada-based Devi Engineering; and Delhi-based Rodinia Energy. On July 9 (2024), ONGC invited offers to shoot the 2D across five basins in India.
ONGC also divided the tender into five sectors. In Sector-1, ONGC wants to shoot 1150-lkm 2D in Chhatisgarh, with 20,666 shot points.
In Sector-2, ONGC wants to shoot 2500-lkm 2D in the Cuddapah basin with 47,916 shot points. Sector-3 is again divided into two parts: Sector-3A where ONGC wants to shoot 2195-lkm 2D with 44,708 shot points in the Krishna-Godavari basin and Sector-3B where ONGC wants to shoot 2366-lkm 2D with 45,183 shot points in the KG basin.
In Sector-4, ONGC wants to shoot 2004-lkm 2D in the Deccan Synclise basin, with 53,550 shot points. In Sector-5, ONGC wants to shoot 660-lkm 2D in the Saurashtra basin, with 12,350 shot points.
ONGC wants the contractor to deploy at least two crews, except in the Saurashtra basin, where ONGC wants just one crew. In the Cuddapah, KG and Deccan Synclise basins, ONGC wants the contractor to complete the acquisition within 13 months, excluding monsoon months.
In Chhatisgarh, the work must be completed in nine months. In the Saurashtra basin, the work must be completed in six months.
Mobilisation must take place within 75 days. If mobilisation is completed early, the leftover days can be used for data collection.
Mid-June to mid-October is generally considered off-season in the areas and won't be counted towards the data acquisition period.
