NEW PROJECT - Reliance gas facility

Vol 16, PW 13 (24 Jan 13) News in Brief

Reliance is set to issue a tender next month (February) to select a detailed engineering consultant for a proposed onshore gas compression facility at its KG-D6 block.

Aker Powergas, Foster Wheeler and Fluor Daniel are among eight companies shortlisted to bid. Reliance plans to issue an EPC tender in March to construct the $200m gas compression system at Gadimoga village in Andhra Pradesh, which it wants commissioned by end-2014 to handle up to 10m cm/d of additional gas production expected once it drills eight wells at the D2, D6, D22 and D19 fields in the KG-DWN-98/3 licence.

Reliance has short-listed six companies: Dresser Rand, Rolls-Royce Energy Systems, Solar Turbines International, GE Oil & Gas, Siemens and Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Mustang International won the conceptualisation and Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) contract last November, and is also doing detailed engineering on long lead items.

A report is expected by May.
