L&T wins two LoIs for MHN work

Work has begun on ONGC’s biggest offshore EPC contract in recent times when Letters of Intent were issued last month to contractors for the new MHN platform offshore Mumbai.

On July 31, ONGC issued a LoI to Larsen & Toubro to build the MHN process complex and living quarters at a cost of $925.42m. Phase-I should be completed by January 31, 2011 and Phase-II by April 30, 2012.

L&T also received a LoI for the process gas compressor module to be installed at a cost of $169.31m. Here, Phase-I should be completed by October 1, 2011 and Phase-II by February 28, 2012.

Valentine Maritime received a LoI for the MHN pipeline contract to be completed at a cost of $136.69m. Phase-I must be ready by April 30, 2011 and Phase-II by March 31, 2012.

“Contractors have begun procurement of materials,â€‌ reports a source. ONGC is planning a meeting to formally â€کkick-off’ the project, designed to replace a platform destroyed by fire in July 2005, killing 22 personnel.
