BG chairman Sir Robert Wilson visits India

British Gas Group chairman Sir Robert Wilson is visiting India from 6th to 11th November.

This is Sir Roberts first visit to India as BG Group chairman, BG tells us. There is no specific agenda.

Sir Robert is scheduled to meet Mani Shankar Aiyar and other ministry officials in Delhi either on 7th or 8th November. After that he travels to Mumbai to visit BG operations at the Panna, Mukta and Tapti oil and gasfields, as well as Mahanagar Gas, the companys 50-50 joint venture with GAIL.

From Mumbai he travels to Ahmedabad to visit BG subsidiary Gujarat Gas. India is high on BGs list of six core areas of operation across the globe.

Other BG core areas are: UK, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Trinidad and Tobago and parts of South America. Sir Robert was appointed chairman of BG on 1st January 2004.

He has been non-executive director at BG since September 2002 and is familiar with India in an earlier life with mining group Rio Tinto.
